Oscar Cardozo has just scored the opener here at the Estadio Da Luz, and it's a beauty. A brilliant Benfica move ends up with Gaitan marauding down the right, where his early cross reaches Cardozo on the edge of the box, who chests it down beautifully, turning the lacklustre Jonny Evans in the process, and slapping a fine shot with his right - Yes, do not adjust your monitor - foot past Lindegaard and into the far corner.
Replays show that the ball actually went under the arm of the Danish keeper - there won't be any blame attached to him, as it was a great hit, but he perhaps could've saved that. United need to step up, though - they've been second-best so far all evening, with Carrick, Evans, Park and Giggs being the worst offenders. It'll be interesting to see who Ferguson will turn to, with Berbatov on the bench and Chelsea approaching.
