Boy, watching Europa League is fun, isn't it? A bunch of teams English-language natives know very little about, versus a bunch of teams that weren't quite good enough to make it into the Champions League. Today we bring you a team that we know so little about, we can't even agree on whether to call them PAOK Salonika or PAOK Thessaloniki. What we know is that PAOK are a team from the Greek Super League, a league that's generally regarded as being both physical and fairly good tactically. Specifics about the team, though? Well if you know Greek, by all means, fill us in.
They play Tottenham Hotspur, alternatively called Spurs, although never the Spurs -- that much we do know. We've also got you covered with thoughts on a Spurs lineup (well, the SB Nation Spurs blog, Cartilage Free Captain, has your back, anyway):
Harry Redknapp has said that he will be making 10 changes to the squad that beat Wolves, with Kyle Walker being the only player who remains in the team. Emmanuel Adebayor, Luka Modric, Scott Parker and Gareth Bale have all been left behind in London.
So...what's the lineup going to look like? That's not exactly obvious. Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch are gone, while Jermain Defoe will start the game on the bench. Roman Pavluychenko is a lock to start, but who's the other starter? Is it Giovani dos Santos in the hole or as a second striker? Harry Kane? Maybe even...Souleymane Coulibaly?!? And how the hell does Harry make 10 changes with Michael Dawson injured?
In other words, we really don't know what's going to happen in this match. That's why you watch!
The game kicks off at 1:00 pm ET, 6:00 pm BST, 7:00 pm local time. The game can be seen on ESPN in the UK and is only being carried in the United States on DirecTV Soccer. Head over to Cartilage Free Captain to join the in-match chatter.
