Lille certainly haven't been poor to start the season, but they certainly have a few hiccups to work out of their system. They drew their third straight match in all competitions on Tuesday night, with Bordeaux holding them to a 1-1 draw. Lille now sit in fourth place in Ligue 1, behind Lyon, Montpellier, and Toulouse. Paris St. Germain look likely to pass them on Wednesday.
The match started out in disastrous fashion for Lille, with Bordeaux winning a penalty in the seventh minute. Florent Balmont took down Cheick Diabaté in the box, and he stepped up and converted to give Bordeaux a 1-0 lead in the first 10 minutes.
It would take until the second half for Lille to find an equalizer, and when they did, it came from a likely source. Eden Hazard scored the 58th minute equalizer, assisted by Joe Cole, who is off to a great start in his loan spell at Lille.
Lille appeared to give all of the points away in the 79th minute when Mickaël Landreau took down Fahid Ben Khalfallah in the box, giving away another penalty, but this time Diabaté missed badly, gifting Lille one point.
