Alexandre Pato Injury: AC Milan Striker Out Four Weeks With Hamstring Issue

AC Milan's injury crisis at striker just got a little bit worse. After pulling up lame while running after a ball against Udinese on Wednesday, Milan striker Alexandre Pato has been ruled out for four weeks with an injury to his hamstring. The club announced that they ran tests that revealed damage and the timetable sounds like Pato has a mild tear, but the club has not been specific about exactly what the hamstring injury is.

Max Allegri is not only short on strikers, but also wingers and attacking midfielders. This means that a change in formation is not a simple solution available to him. He'll have to make do with Antonio Cassano and Stephan El Shaarawy, who admittedly struck up a good partnership in the second half against the Zebrette.

Filippo Inzaghi was on the bench for Milan against Udinese after recovering from a severe knee injury, but is past his prime and will not be available in the Champions League. Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are still out injured, as is attacking midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Alexandre Pato Injury: AC Milan Striker Subbed Out Against Udinese

AC Milan's injury crisis appears to be getting even worse. The club has already lost Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho to injuries, as well as the legendary Filippo Inzaghi to what was previously believed to be a potential career ending issue, and it's about to get worse. Alexandre Pato has had to come out of Milan's Serie A match against Udinese after just 20 minutes with what appears to be some sort of muscle injury in his leg.

Unfortunately for Milan, the injury was suffered during a brilliant counter-attack. Clarence Seedorf and Antonio Cassano worked a couple of brilliant first touch passes to get Pato into space and running at the Udinese defense, but he pulled up lame in the process, then limped over to the sideline. He's been replaced by Stephan El Shaarawi.
