Maybe that Joe Cole guy still has a little left in the tank. After injuries and generally poor play seemed to have doomed his career, the Englishman was shipped off to France for what many thought would be a sad end to his career, filled with the same disappointments of the last few years. Instead, he's found a home with the defending Ligue 1 champions, Lille, playing well and even scoring his first goal of the season yesterday with a great shot into the upper corner that left the keeper without a chance.
So is Joe Cole back? Five matches into his Lille career, it's a little early to say that much, but it's just good to see him playing well again. And with Lille down at sixth in the Ligue 1 table, they need Cole to continue playing well if they are to try and defend their crown, plus there's that little thing called the Champions League too.
