Real Madrid Vs. Ajax Live, 2011 UEFA Champions League: Cristiano Ronaldo Puts Los Blancos Up 1-0

One touch, one touch, one touch, one touch, one touch, one touch. That is how Real Madrid moved the ball upfield at a blinding pace, eventually feeding Cristiano Ronaldo in front to knock the ball home and give the hosts a 1-0 lead in their UEFA Champions League group stage match against. It was a brilliant move that saw them pass and move beautifully, eventually leading to Mesut Ozil using the outside of his foot to open Karim Benzema up on the right. Benzema crossed for Ronaldo and Ronaldo finished. Just gorgeous.

The goal has the scoreboard showing the same Madrid superiority that they had been showing on the field, even before the goal. They have been the better side, controlling the midfield and creating chances, but it took until the 25 minute for them to make it count. They have that goal now though and can look to add to it, but they must not get complacent. They have been better than Ajax, but the Dutch side have had their share of the ball and, if given the opportunity, hav the quality to flip this match once more.
