AC Milan Vs. Inter Milan, 2012 Serie A: Boateng Should Score, Doesn't

Stay connected with SB Nation

Wow, that really should be AC Milan 1-0 Inter Milan. It isn't, of course, but Kevin-Prince Boateng will be mystified by the fact that he hasn't scored. From a corner kick, the Ghana midfielder was left completely unmarked - no idea what Inter were doing there - and Urby Emmanualson picked him out with a low cross. Boateng had time and space and therefore blasted his shot well over the bar. How on earth can you not keep the shot on target there? Silly Boateng.

At the other end of the pitch, there's not a great deal going on, although a driving Maicon run did rather frighten the Milan defence before a one-two between the fullback and Diego Milito resulted in a shot straight at Christian Abbiati. That was a good chance, but it's clear that the home side are in the ascendancy. If they can't make their good spell count, though, Inter have every chance to hit them on the break and cause some real issues.
