Dimitar Berbatov Unlikely To Return To Bayer Leverkusen

The transfer rumor that wouldn't die may have finally been killed dead. Bayer Leverkusen have dismissed reports that they have bid on Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov or that they are planning to bid for him. Berbatov first made a name for himself in European football at Bayer, where he was one of the best players in the Bundesliga during his final three seasons, before he made a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Berbatov has 47 goals in 105 league games for Manchester United, but he still isn't first choice and has been linked to various moves for the last couple of years. Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan have been linked to moves and Tottenham fans would like him back, but it doesn't appear that Berbatov is going anywhere. He will be the subject of more rumors during the summer, but it looks very likely that the Bulgarian will be sticking around through January.
