There are two games on Friday before Chivas manager Fernando Quirante fights for his job on Saturday

It's Jornada 3, which means it's time for a manager to get canned in the Mexican Primera.

Wait...what's that? Estudiantes Tecos already fired their manager? Oh, well then. It's time for a REALLY REALLY BIG CLUB to fire their manager! Chivas Guadalajara has lost their first two matches of the season, and they're going to can Fernando Quirante if he can't engineer a home win against relegation-threatened Club Tijuana, according to all of the paper gossip. They probably won't lose, but FMF is ridiculous and they look like trash at the moment, so who knows.

This week features two Friday games on simultaneously, which never happens. Monarcas Morelia hosts San Luis on Azteca, while Tecos host Club America on Galavision. San Luis are off to a fantastic start and America looks like they're on track to make Liguilla. Things have not gone well so far for Morelia and Tecos, who both need points badly.

A lot of eyes will be on Chivas in the late game on Saturday, but the other late game is probably more intriguing. Santos Laguna and Jaguares Chiapas should put on a show, with plenty of attacking talent on display. Perhaps the best match of the round is the early Saturday match between Monterrey and UNAM Pumas, who still have lingering questions after surprisingly failing to make Liguilla last season.
