Fulham Transfer Rumors: Cottagers Want Maxi Lopez On Loan From Catania

Oh, poor Catania. First their first-choice goalkeeper, Mariano Andujar, hightails back to Argentina due to a rift with the club's sporting director. And now this, the moment the supporters have been dreading: it seems that striker Maxi Lopez is off to the Premier League, joining Fulham on loan for the rest of the season, with the option to buy at the end of the loan.

Fans of the rossazzurri knew the Argentine was bound to move, but thought, perhaps, they'd manage to keep him until the end of the season. After all, he'd had tears in his eyes when applauding the fans after Catania's final game before the winter break. But then he reappeared, giving hope that he wasn't leaving.

Alas, it appears that Maxi Lopez thinks he's better than the Sicilian club, and Martin Jol believes having twelve forwards at Fulham just isn't enough. It's a match made in heaven, really.
