Hoffenheim striker Vedad Ibisevic is being linked with a move to the Mercedes-Benz Arena and VfB Stuttgart. Talks between the two clubs began last week, and Bild is reporting that an agreement has been reached between the two sides. The reported move will see Ibisevic joining Stuttgart for a transfer fee of €5.5m.
Ibisevic's current contract runs through 2013, and contract extension talks with Hoffenheim have stalled. The Bosnian international was rumored to be making a move last summer to English Premier League club Blackburn Rovers, but that move never materialized due to a knee injury sustained by the striker. Hoffenheim would like to move him now or next summer to maximize their profit.
A transfer to Stuttgart will see Ibisevic join a strong forward corps consisting of Cacau, Pavel Pogrebnyak, Martin Harnik, and Shinji Okazaki.
Hoffenheim is rumored to be looking at Wolfsburg's Srđan Lakić as his replacement if the move occurs.
