Friday's FA Cup fourth round match between Everton and Fulham was billed as the great American soccer exhibition in the U.S. Landon Donovan, Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey all on the field together. It was like Christmas day for American soccer and while Dempsey might be the one with 15 goals, Donovan stole the headlines with a couple assists that helped the Toffees win 2-1 for a spot in the fifth round. Yay Muricah!
The two assists were hardly Donovan's only contributions on the night. He was a constant threat and regularly tormented the Cottagers' defense. He was part of the failed Everton defending as he got beat down the wing in the play that led to the penalty and Fulham goal, but all in all, it was a tremendous evening for Donovan and the Toffees. They are through to the fifth round and the cult of Landon at Goodison Park just continues to grow.
