Liverpool have had some luck fall their way ahead of their clash with Manchester City. If they can turn that into an upset victory at the Ethiad Stadium, a six-way title race could be alive again.
Manchester City is still on the top of the table in the Premier League, but after their loss to Sunderland just two days ago, the table is starting to look just a little bit more wide open. City rested a number of players with this Liverpool fixture in mind and were made to pay for it, as Ji Dong-Won scored a stunning winner for the Black Cats.
Liverpool have been the recipients of some good luck when it comes to the timing of this fixture. They played four days ago, while Manchester City have had just one day off between games. Luis Suarez was suspended against Newcastle United and will return for this game. Steven Gerrard made a substitute appearance against Newcastle, and could now be fit to start if Kenny Dalglish wants to put him into the first team. It's all gone in Liverpool's favor for this particular match.
All of Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Mario Balotelli did not make starts against Sunderland, and all of them are expected to have some impact on this match. Silva and Aguero are near locks to start, while Balotelli could start on the bench after recently recovering from an injury. Both teams should start unchanged defenses.
