With Liverpool deciding not to appeal Luis Suarez's suspension, his eight-match ban will begin tonight so the Reds will have to head to Eastlands to play Manchester City without their star striker. It's not a unfair though because City have a problem of their own, having to play just 48 hours after their last match. So both teams have their problems as they get ready for today's meeting at Eastlands.
Edin Dzeko is staying in the squad for City and Sergio Aguero re-enters the team, while Liverpool counter with their fearsome forward Andy Carroll, who might be able to hit the frame today if he's lucky. Maybe the short rest for City isn't nearly as bad as Liverpool losing Suarez considering his replacement?
Anyways, if the Reds can manage three points they'll jump Arsenal and move level with Chelsea in fourth place, while City need a point to break the deadlock with United atop the league.
Manchester City: Joe Hart, Micah Richards, Kolo Toure, Vincent Kompany, Gael Clichy, Yaya Toure, Gareth Barry, David Silva, Sergio Aguero, James Milner, Edin Dzeko
Liverpool: Pepe Reina; Jose Enrique, Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger; Jay Spearing, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson, Dirk Kuyt, Andy Carroll
