It may seem like an insignificant -- and expected -- move, a fullback who has rarely seen the pitch being sent on loan to a team struggling with defense. But to Juventus fans, the news that Marco Motta is apparently on his way to Catania is cause for celebration. Motta came to Juve on loan from Udinese last season, and despite being markedly unimpressive, was signed to a permanent deal with the club.
But then the bianconeri signed Stephan Lichtsteiner, and Motta (and his horrible hair) have rarely been seen since. But until the news that the Sicilian side was set to take him on loan, it seemed like the defender was going to be a permanent fixture at the Old Lady.
With the rossazzurri leaking goals faster than a generic diaper on a newborn, they need all the help they can get at the back. But will Motta be more a hindrance than a help?
