It looks as though Manchester City left back Wayne Bridge is on the verge of another loan spell. The England international, 31, is apparently join Sunderland for the rest of the season, and according to Sky Sports is about to undergo a medical at the Stadium of Light:
Sunderland were understood to have been in the market for help at fullback, midfield and centre forward, and Bridge solves the first issue pretty handily. Thanks to the enormous wages the City player is on, there's almost no chance of a club actually picking him up on a permanent deal, but he can be a competent enough mercenary, as West Ham found out last year, and the Black Cats have got themselves a nice deal - assuming his parent club is paying the bulk of Bridge's reported £95,000 a week wages.
