Spurs Add Louis Saha To Striking Stable

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly sealed a deal to bring Louis Saha to White Hart Lane. Spurs have been looking for a striker for something like the last ten seasons, and despite the presence of Emmanuel Adebayor on loan from Manchester City it was clear that they needed reinforcements up front this window as well. Enter former Manchester United man Louis Saha, who's been with Everton since 2008.

Saha is indeed a striker - and once upon a time he was quite a good one, routinely ending up in double figures for goals scored. Unfortunately for Tottenham, he's also injury prone, 33 years old and on a terrible run of form, making this deal somewhat baffling from their perspective. Spurs should have been in the market for an elite attacker - while the crew of Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko may not have been good enough, it's difficult to see how Saha makes them any better. None of that's stopping Tottenham, who've already finalised a loan deal for an undisclosed sum. Right then.
