QPR Attempt to Pry Bobby Zamora Off Fulham

Wantaway Fulham striker Bobby Zamora has been given an opportunity to leave the club but stay in the neighbourhood. With Zamora reportedly at odds with Fulham manager Martin Jol, Queens Park Rangers have scented blood, and are apparently very keen on luring the former Tottenham Hotspur man to Loftus Road. At this point, the major stumbling block appears to be the 31-year-old's wage demands - he's asking £90,000 per week to move to the Premier League stragglers.

Zamora would cap a huge rebuilding effort at QPR and become the fifth major new acquisition after Taye Taiwo, Nedum Onuoha, Samba Diakite and Djibril Cisse, although Cisse is yet to be confirmed, and that sort of talent should be enough to steer them away from what would otherwise be a very worrying relegation battle. It remains to be seen if the two sides can come together, although Fulham's interest in Stuttgart's Pavel Pogrebnyak indicates that the Cottagers are getting ready to move on.
