Djibril Cisse Completes Move From Lazio To QPR

Freshly returned to the Premier League, Queens Park Rangers are determined to stay there. Currently sitting in 16th position, just two points above the relegation zone, QPR have stormed transfer deadline day, believing they can stay away from the Championship by securing what those in the know love to call "proven talent." First up? French international Djibril Cisse.

The striker lasted just half a season with Lazio, where he landed after a spell at Panathinaikos. Fellow summer signing Miroslav Klose far outshone Cisse, who scored just one goal in 18 appearances for the Italian side. Edy Reja prefers a single striker these days, leaving little room for Cisse, although he has said the forward will score "10-15 goals in England."

Not sure if Reja means in this half of the season, or in the entirety of Cisse's time in England. In 2008-2009, the striker did manage 10 goals for Sunderland, which must be what QPR are banking on. He has signed a two and a half year contract with the London club.
