Parma Vs. Juventus, 2012 Serie A Week 21: Parma Hope To Be The First To Make Juve Fall

Round 21 of Serie A starts off with table-toppers Juventus traveling to Parma.

I swear to God, Juventus just played. Ok, ok, it was on Saturday, but it sure seems like just yesterday evening Alessandro Matri and Claudio Marchisio were embracing in a snowstorm. Just me? Ok, sorry.

So Juve are up to 20 matches unbeaten, thanks to a 2-1 win over Udinese on Saturday. Parma, meanwhile, managed just a point against Catania, making ten points from their last nine matches. They're in 12th, they're fairly comfortable, they're...well, they're bland.

But if they upset Juventus, Parma will be the flavor of the month -- especially if ex-Juve player Sebastian Giovinco is the one that clinches the winner. Giovinco loves scoring against his former club, and if Stephan Lichtsteiner is rested today (he was substituted, looking exhausted, for the first time this season against Udinese) the attacker just might get his chance.

Still, no one underestimates the Old Lady these days. Marchisio will most likely start, and will want to, once again, catch up with Matri on goals scored. With Mirko Vucinic still out injured, we might see Marco Boriello paired with Matri, his first league start in bianconeri.
