Fulham Complete Pogrebnyak Signing, Bobby Zamora Still Up In The Air

The London striker carousel is still in motion. Queens Park Rangers may have confirmed the Djibril Cisse signing, but they're still int he hunt for Bobby Zamora, and their quest to land the Fulham striker has just been made easier by the Cottagers' signing of Pavel Pogrebnyak from Bundesliga side Stuttgart. Pogrebnyak, who's passed a medical and have been granted a work permit, is set to be officially unveiled before the end of the window, and the acquisition of the Russia international frees up Fulham to ditch the out-of-favour Zamora, who's apparently keen to link up with former boss Mark Hughes.

At this point, the main barrier to the Zamora deal's completion is the former Tottenham Hotspur player's wages - his demands have been reported at between £60,000 and £90,000, each a significant raise over the £45,000 per week he's receiving at Fulham. However, considering the friction between him and Martin Jol, it'd be a surprise if he and QPR couldn't come to an arrangement.
