Manchester United are coming off of a bad loss to Blackburn Rovers, and they're 45 minutes away from being upset again. Though, with their high volume of injuries and the form of Demba Ba, a win for Newcastle United at St. James' Park won't exactly constitute a shocker. United are struggling to create chances and Newcastle lead 1-0 at halftime, thanks to an absolutely stunning goal by Demba Ba.
In what is likely his last league match before he departs for the African Cup of Nations, Ba has been absolutely fantastic. His goal game in the 33rd minute on a spectacular turn and volley, in which he set himself up for a shot into the back of the net at the far post from 15 yards. Anders Lindegaard had no chance to make a save.
United have just three goal attempts and just one shot on target after 45 minutes. Tim Krul hasn't looked bothered. Alex Ferguson needs to make changes, but his bench is dangerously thin at the moment.
