The Blaugrana midfielder will miss both of his club's games against Celtic.
Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has been banned for two Champions League matches following his red card against Benfica.
Busquets was dismissed for a bad tackle on full-back Maxi Pereira during Barcelona's 2-0 win over the Portuguese club, and will be banned for both of the Blaugrana's games against Scottish champions Celtic. He will, however, have the right to appeal within the next three days, although the chances of getting the red card overturned would appear to be unlikely.
Busquets joins a growing list of Barcelona absentees, including Carles Puyol, Daniel Alves, and Thiago Alcantara. Gerard Pique also missed the 2-2 draw with Real Madrid and was not called up to the Spain squad for the international break, although should be fit in time to face the Hoops.
Barcelona are in pole position in their Champions League group, and though Celtic have not enjoyed the best of starts in their domestic season, their impressive 3-2 away win over Spartak Moscow shows that they can be a danger.
