Zenit St. Petersburg vs. Anderlecht: Lineups

Stay connected with SB Nation

Zenit spent a ton of money in the summer to bolster their side for the Champions League. Unfortunately, the move hasn't paid off and the Russian side is desperate for three points today against Anderlecht.

Luciano Spalletti has only made one change from the side that lost to AC Milan in the last round of group stage matches. Sergei Semak replaces Vladimir Bystrov in the midfield, but it shouldn't change the team's shape at all.

Anderlecht got hammered their last time out in the Champions League by Malaga, but there are only two changes to the lineup. Dieudonné Mbokani is out injured and has been replaced by Tom De Sutter. Massimo Bruno was dropped in favor of 18-year-old Dennis Praet. For American fans, Sacha Klejstan fails to make the starting eleven for the second straight Champions League match, but he is on the bench.

Zenit St. Petersburg starting lineup (4-3-2-1): Vyacheslav Malafeev; Aleksandr Anyukov, Domenico Criscito, Nicolas Lombaerts, Tomáš Hubočan; Roman Shirokov, Sergei Semak, Axel Witsel; Viktor Fayzulin, Hulk; Alexsandr Kerzakhov.

Anderlecht starting lineup (4-5-1): Olivier Deschacht; Guillaume Gillet, Bram Nuytinck, Cheikhou Kouyaté, Marcin Wasilewski; Dennis Praet, Lucas Biglia, Kanu, Milan Jovanović; Tom De Sutter.
