Karim Benzema and Mesut Özil start for Real Madrid as they take on Borussia Dortmund.
Real Madrid have named a largely makeshift defence as they travel to Borussia Dortmund tonight.
Raphael Varane starts in the centre of defence, with Michael Essien continuing his role at left-back. Sergio Ramos is deployed at right-back. The rest of Real Madrid's lineup is largely as anticipated, with Mesut Özil preferred to Luka Modric in the hole and Benzema playing up front instead of Higuain, who featured at the weekend.
Dortmund's lineup is largely as expected, a 4-2-3-1 with Robert Lewandowski alone up front. Madrid's defence has performed admirably so far, but with Essien playing out of position and the untested Varane brought in, BVB will be looking to test their backline at any opportunity.
Dortmund (4-2-3-1): Roman Weidenfeller; Lukasz Piszczek, Neven Subotic, Mats Hummels, Marcel Schmelzer; Sebastian Kehl, Sven Bender; Marco Reus, Mario Götze, Kevin Großkreutz; Robert Lewandowski.
Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Iker Casillas; Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Pepe, Michael Essien; Sami Khedira, Xabi Alonso; Angel Di María, Mesut Özil, Cristiano Ronaldo; Karim Benzema.
