Valencia fielded a surprisingly strong team against Llagostera and grabbed a 2-0 win in Catalonia.

Up against minnows Llagostera, who won promotion to the third tier of Spanish football for the first time in their history last season, Valencia surprisingly fielded an extremely strong team. Youngster Jose Gaya got a run-out, but the rest of Los Che's team had extensive professional experience. They're in good position to advance in Copa Del Rey as a result after they pulled out a 2-0 road win on Tuesday.

Llagostera were excellent in the first half, and actually challenged Valencia's goal on a couple of occasions. It looked as though they were going to take a 0-0 draw into the break until the final minute of the first half, when Jonas scored on a half-volley off of a free kick by Nelson Valdez. In the second half, Valdez added a goal of his own to secure Valencia's win.

With two road goals to their name, Los Che have the luxury of playing less first team players for the return leg a month from now.
