Real Madrid comfortably defeated Alcoyano away to take one step into the next round of the Copa Del Rey.
Real Madrid kept Cristiano Ronaldo and Xabi Alonso out of their squad on Wednesday night, but didn't need them against Alcoyano. The third division side were no match for Los Merengues, who comfortably won the away leg of their Copa Del Rey tie, 4-1.
Karim Benzema put his team up in the 21st minute, assisted by Jose Maria Callejon with a header. Alcoyano failed to clear a fairly routine high ball towards the penalty area, and Callejon capitalized. He nodded to Benzema, who easily rounded Unai Alba before finishing. A shot from the edge of the area by Kaka in the 35th minute sent Madrid into the locker room up two goals.
At halftime, Jese replaced fellow Castilla star Alex. The Segunda's leading scorer took just 21 minutes to score his first goal for Madrid's senior team with an impressive curled finish that put the match away. Grande Javi Lara pulled one back for Alcoyano, but Karim Benzema restored Madrid's three-goal lead late.
