Bayern Munich vs. Eintracht Frankfurt: Final score 2-0, Bayern win again but lose Boateng

Bayern Munich beat Eintracht Frankfurt to maintain their lead atop the Bundesliga table, but they lose defender Jerome Boateng to an injury in the first half.

Bayern Munich beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 on Saturday to increase their lead over them in the table to 10 points. The win is Bayern's 10th in 11 games.

Bayern scored just before halftime to take a 1-0 lead. David Alaba dribbled through the middle of the field before passing up the field to Javi Martinez who beat the offside trap. Martinez dribbled into the penalty area and, when goalkeeper Kevin Trapp came out to cut off the angle, squared a pass to Franck Ribery, and the Frenchman poked it home for a lead.

After successfully defending a few Frankfurt attacks, Bayern found their second goal in the 65th minute. Bastian Schweinsteiger went to ground under a light challenge, and a penalty was awarded. David Alaba stepped up and converted for the 2-0 lead.

A concern for Bayern will be Jerome Boateng coming off injured only a half hour with a leg injury. With Holger Badstuber out for a little longer, Bayern will likely turn to a Dante and Daniel Van Buyten partnership in the center of defense.

The win pushes Bayern up to 30 points after 11 games, and they remain seven points ahead of their nearest rival. Frankfurt are on 20 points, but they remain in third place.
