Robbie Kruse and Joselu scored in the first half as Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hoffenheim settled for a 1-1 draw.

Hoffenheim scored late in the first half to cancel out an early Fortuna Düsseldorf goal in the first ever Bundesliga match between the two sides.

Düsseldorf jumped out to an early lead after only three minutes after Ken Ilsö earned a free kick deep in Hoffenheim's half of the field. Ronny Garbuschewski sent in a cross from the right side, and Robbie Kruse leapt above everyone and headed it past Tim Wiese for the 1-0.

As the clock ticked down for the end of the first half, Hoffenheim kept pushing forward looking for another equalizer. They grabbed a goal in the 39th minute. Andreas Beck lofted a cross to the far post, and Joselu's header tucked just inside the near post. The goal is the Spaniard's fourth on the season.

The second half consisted of near-dominance from Düsseldorf while chances were few and far between for Hoffenheim. Wiese performed well enough throughout the second half to keep out the Düsseldorf attempts, and both sides settled for a 1-1 draw.
