Toluca holds on for 2-1 win over Chivas

Toluca gave away a penalty late, but they're headed home with a lead, thanks to a first half flurry and a great performance by goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera.

Monterrey nearly out after loss to Xolos

Time to break up the band? A rough season for Monterrey appears to be ending with a whimper. They fell at home to Tijuana on Thursday night.

Morelia crashing out of Liguilla

Morelia were no match for America on Wednesday night, and have almost no chance of turning the tie around at the Azteca.

Corona saves 2-1 win for Cruz Azul

In a thrilling first leg, Cruz Azul hung onto a 2-1 victory over Club Leon, thanks to a fantastic late save by Jose Corona.

America, Morelia both pick attacking teams

Partially due to availability of players and partially for tactical reasons, Monarcas Morelia and Club America have both made significant changes to their defense for their Liguilla clash. America are without defender Aquivaldo Mosquera, who is on international duty, and will play with a back four for the first time since their loss to Chivas Guadalajara in the Super Clasico. Morelia, who beat Santos Laguna in a crucial Liguilla decider last week, switch from a back four to a back three.

Club America lineup (4-2-3-1): Moises Munoz; Adrian Aldrete, Diego Reyes, Juan Carlos Valenzuela, Paul Aguilar; Jesus Molina, Juan Carlos Medina; Jose Cardenas, Daniel Montenegro, Raul Jimenez; Cristian Benitez

Monarcas Morelia lineup (3-4-3): Federico Vilar; Joel Huiqui, Mauricio Romero, Urial Alvarez; Jose Antonio Olivera, Christian Valdez, Carlos Morales, Rodrigo Salinas; Joao Rojas, Jefferson Montero, Miguel Sabah

Morelia have been one of Mexico's most conservative teams in recent history, and they were solid defensively this year. They're up against a very strong attacking team on the road, so it's surprising to see them field a team this aggressive. It would be surprising if both teams did not score in this match.

Leon make changes to face Cruz Azul

Cruz Azul's team is as expected for their near must-win Liguilla match against Club Leon, but there are some mild surprises in the visitors' team. There's nothing outrageous in Gustavo Matosas' team, but they've made one switch, opting to solidify their midfield by bringing in Hernan Burbano for striker Matias Britos.

Cruz Azul lineup (4-2-3-1): Jose Corona; Julio Cesar Dominguez, Alejandro Castro, Jair Pereira, Gerardo Flores; Israel Castro, Gerardo Torrado; Alejandro Vela, Christian Gimenez, Javier Aquino; Mariano Pavone

Club Leon lineup (4-2-3-1): Christian Martínez; Luis Delgado, Jonny Magallón, Ignacio González, Edwin Hernández; Jose Vázquez; Carlos Peña; Ivan Loboa, Hernan Burbano, Luis Montes; Nelson Maz

Both teams have some notably strong attacking bench options. Javier Orozco and Omar Bravo can come on and change the game if Cruz Azul are struggling, while Edgar Pacheco and Matias Britos are potent attacking options off the bench for Leon. The man to watch in this one is probably Christian Gimenez, who can score at any time, from anywhere.
