Club America vs. Monarcas Morelia, 2012 Liguilla: Lineups

Stay connected with SB Nation

Partially due to availability of players and partially for tactical reasons, Monarcas Morelia and Club America have both made significant changes to their defense for their Liguilla clash. America are without defender Aquivaldo Mosquera, who is on international duty, and will play with a back four for the first time since their loss to Chivas Guadalajara in the Super Clasico. Morelia, who beat Santos Laguna in a crucial Liguilla decider last week, switch from a back four to a back three.

Club America lineup (4-2-3-1): Moises Munoz; Adrian Aldrete, Diego Reyes, Juan Carlos Valenzuela, Paul Aguilar; Jesus Molina, Juan Carlos Medina; Jose Cardenas, Daniel Montenegro, Raul Jimenez; Cristian Benitez

Monarcas Morelia lineup (3-4-3): Federico Vilar; Joel Huiqui, Mauricio Romero, Urial Alvarez; Jose Antonio Olivera, Christian Valdez, Carlos Morales, Rodrigo Salinas; Joao Rojas, Jefferson Montero, Miguel Sabah

Morelia have been one of Mexico's most conservative teams in recent history, and they were solid defensively this year. They're up against a very strong attacking team on the road, so it's surprising to see them field a team this aggressive. It would be surprising if both teams did not score in this match.
