Emmanuel Adebayor has put Tottenham Hotspur in front at the Emirates, as he and strike partner Jermain Defoe link up. Some feeble defending from Per Mertesacker allowed Jermain Defoe in down the left, and his cross-cum-shot was pushed out into the path of Adebayor by Wojciech Szczesny, allowing an easy finish for Adebayor.
The Togolese forward wasn't celebrating for long however, as shortly afterwards Adebayor committed a terrible tackle on Santi Cazorla, two-footed and studs showing. Howard Webb has no choice but to send him off and now Tottenham have a narrow lead they'll have to defend all game. Silly stuff from Adebayor, and a shame for Spurs, who were bold in going 4-4-2 and looking good but will now have a nightmare in keeping control of this game.
Arsenal haven't been in the game much and haven't had too many chances, but expect that to change now they have the numerical advantage.
