Schalke and Eintracht Frankfurt played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday. Both sides fell further behind leaders Bayern Munich and were jumped in the table by Borussia Dortmund.
Lewis Holtby played the ball into the Frankfurt box to Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, and the Dutchman found himself one on one with Frankfurt's Kevin Trapp. He slotted his left footed shot past the goalkeeper for the 1-0 lead after 11 minutes.
Frankfurt wasted no time finding an equalizer. Two minutes later, Bastian Oczipka whipped in a cross that Stefan Aigner powerfully headed past Lars Unnerstall.
Both sides threw numbers forward looking for the winner, but neither were able to find it. Schalke came the closest when Huntelaar's header hit the crossbar in the second half. Even when Karim Matmour was sent off, Schalke were unable to find another goal.
Schalke fall to third place in the table, and Frankfurt find themselves in fourth with the draw.
