With the big match against Borussia Dortmund ahead this weekend, Bayern Munich eased past Freiburg.

Bayern Munich eased past Freiburg 2-0 to extend their lead atop the Bundesliga table to 10 points. They have an 11 point lead over Borussia Dortmund heading into Saturday's massive match.

The visitors took a 1-0 lead after 12 minutes when Oliver Sorg was called for a handball in the penalty area when his arm blocked a ball from Franck Ribery. Thomas Müller stepped up and converted the spot kick.

Disaster struck for Freiburg in the 18th minute. Fallou Diagne was shown a red card for a last man foul on Xherdan Shaqiri. As if beating Bayern wasn't difficult enough, now Freiburg had to attempt it with only ten men. They came close to equalizing in the 63rd minute, but Max Kruse's effort was denied by Manuel Neuer.

Bayern finally grabbed their second goal in the 79th minute. Shockingly, it was second half substitute Anatoliy Tymoshchuk that scored a nice goal to make it 2-0.

The win pushes Bayern to 37 points. They're not 10 points clear which means they will definitely go into the winter break atop the table. The loss snaps a four match unbeaten run for Freiburg.
