Timo Gebhart picked the perfect time to score his first goal of the season in a 1-0 win for Nürnberg.

Nürnberg ended a six match winless streak and edged Wolfsburg 1-0 on Saturday. The loss leaves Wolfsburg in the bottom three, while Nürnberg moves into 14th place pending tomorrow's results.

The first real opportunity of the match fell to Nürnberg after 12 minutes. Hiroshi Kiyotake played a good ball to Tomas Pekhart. The Czech international put a good shot on target, but Wolfsburg's Diego Benaglio made a nice save to prevent the goal.

Wolfsburg's best opportunity on the day came in the 70th minute. Diego dribbled into the middle of the pitch from the left side before ripping a shot toward the target. Peter Rakovsky didn't have to do too much work to get down and make the save.

Nürnberg found the winner in the 76th minute on a Timo Gebhart header. Timothy Chandler dribbled down the right side of lifted a cross into the penalty area. Gebhart came in from the back post and hit a diving header past Benaglio to seal all three points.
