One of the oldest and most storied rivalries in MLS will finally be renewed in the playoffs when the LA Galaxy host the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET. ESPN will have the broadcast.
This is the fifth time these two teams have met in the playoffs, but the first time since 2005. Among those meetings is one MLS Cup final, which the Earthquakes won in 2001. The Earthquakes and Galaxy are also tied for the second most MLS Cup titles with two apiece.
The Galaxy are still without injured center back AJ DeLaGarza and fullback Sean Franklin and midfielder Christian Wilhelmsson are listed as questionable. The only injury question for the Earthquakes is Alan Gordon, who is currently listed as questionable and missed their last two matches.
