Fiorentina's young star striker will miss two weeks with a grade I muscle tear, just after breaking a seven match goal slump
Stevan Jovetić will face up to two weeks out after suffering a grade I muscle this weekend in Fiorentina's win over Cagliari. The dynamic 23-year-old striker underwent tests today and it was determined that his injury is a grade i tear than will require up to 14 days for him to recover, according to a brief report on the team's website today.
The young Montenegrin, who had slowed a bit after a fantastic start to the season, now has six goals and three assists. He'll be unavailable for the Viola's upcoming matches against Milan and Atalanta. A tough break for Fiorentina who have been on a roll lately, winning their last three league matches.
Before leaving the match in the 63rd minute, Jovetić scored a goal in the 50th minute and assisted of Luca Toni's goal four minutes later. The goal was Jovetić's first since September 16th against Catania and ended a seven game scoring slump.
