Juventus did what was expected of them on Wednesday with an emphatic home win over FC Nordsjaelland.
Unlike the previous match between these two teams in Denmark, FC Nordsjaelland didn't put up much of a fight against Juventus on Wednesday. The Bianconeri dominated the game from start to finish, running out very comfortable 4-0 winners.
Claudio Marchisio put his side in the lead in the 6th minute, finishing off a great team move. Andrea Pirlo got things going with a ball from the center of the pitch out to the right flank towards Mauricio Isla, who whipped a low cross into the penalty area. Marchisio was perfectly positioned and lost his marker before finishing at the near post.
Nordsjaelland's realistic chances of a comeback were killed off in the 23rd minute by Arturo Vidal. His initial shot was blocked, but he followed up on the effort and made a fantastic sliding tackle-turned-shot to win the ball off Kasper Lorenzen and direct it into the back of the net. Alessandro Matri hit the crossbar with a header three minutes later as Juventus kept the pressure on.
Late in the second half, Sebastian Giovinco sealed the win for Juventus with a fantastic strike. Picking up a pass from Pirlo, he ran at his man before looping an excellent finish to the far post, putting his side up 3-0. The second half was quiet as Juventus sat on their lead, but they did add one more goal, through Fabio Quagliarella in the 75th minute.
