Arsenal vs Swansea City: Lineups

Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Wojciech Szczesny; Carl Jenkinson, Thomas Vermaelen, Per Mertesacker, Kieran Gibbs; Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere; Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski; Gervinho.

Swansea City (4-4-1-1): Gerhard Tremmel; Angel Rangel, Ashley Williams (c), Chico Flores, Ben Davies; Leon Britton, Jonathan de Guzman, Ki Sung-Yeung, Lloyd Dyer; Michu; Itay Shechter.

Olivier Giroud surprisingly starts on the bench as Arsene Wenger controversially selects Gervinho up front for Arsenal. Lukas Podolski is fit to start, while Theo Walcott also passed a late fitness test. Carl Jenkinson and Kieran Gibbs start at full-back, with Vermaelen and Mertesacker the centre-back pairing.

Gerhard Tremmell continues in goal for Swansea as Michel Vorm continues his recuperation, while Chico Flores returns to the side and Jonathan de Guzman takes the place of the injured Pablo Hernandez. Itay Shechter starts up front in place of the injured Danny Graham with Michu in behind, and young defender Ben Davies continues at left-back.

City rotates five players, just to taunt Everton

Manchester City, as you might expect, make a couple changes from their mid-week win over Wigan. Sergio Agüero, Matija Nastasić, Pablo Zabaleta, Mario Balotelli, and Javi Garcia all return to the bench, replaced by Carlos Tevez, Joleon Lescott, Aleksandar Kolarov, Edin Džeko and Samir Nasri. It really isn't fair honestly to pull nearly half your lineup and replace them with as good or better players.

Everton's lineup is exactly the same as their mid-week draw against Arsenal. Unlike City, David Moyes's player cupboard is bare so you gotta play who ya got. It'll be a tough ask for the Toffees but they are the last team to beat City at the Ethiad, so you never know.

Manchester City starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Joe Hart, Maicon, Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott, Aleksandar Kolarov; Yaya Toure, Gareth Barry; David Silva, Samir Nasri, Carlos Tevez; Edin Džeko.

Everton starting lineup (4-4-1-1): Tim Howard; Tony Hibbert, Sylvain Distin, Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines; Steven Naismith, Steven Pienaar, Leon Osman, Darron Gibson; Marouane Fellaini; Nikica Jelavić.
