Greuther Fürth and Augsburg played a draw on Saturday in a result that won't make either side happy.

Greuther Fürth and Augsburg played to a 1-1 draw in a Bavarian Derby that neither side will be pleased with the result. "At least we didn't lose." isn't good enough right now.

Augsburg took a lead after only nine minutes thanks to Sascha Mölders. Tobias Werner whipped in a free kick, and Mölders easily headed it in the goal as he was left unmarked by the Fürth defense.

The match descended into a foul fest with neither side willing to concede any ground. By the end of the match, the referee would have handed out six yellow cards and two reds.

Fürth found their equalizer in the 69th minute. Zoltan Stieber's cross was poor, but it struck the crossbar and fell back into play. Lasse Sobiech was in the right place at the right time and headed past Mohamed Amsif.

Mergim Mavraj was sent off in the 76th minute for his second yellow card on the day. However, Augsburg's man-advantage would not last as Giovanni Sio was sent off in the 85th minute just four minutes after he came on as a substitute.
