Hoffenheim have announced that Marco Kurz has been appointed as the club's new manager, and he will take over effective January 1, 2013. The 43 year old becomes Hoffenheim's sixth manager since the start of the 2010-2011 season.
He replaces caretaker manager Frank Kramer who will return to managing the club's U-23 side. Kramer's two matches in charge were a 0-2 loss to Hamburg and a 1-3 loss to Borussia Dortmund. "I said from the start that I was unconditionally at the disposal of the club. I did that for the first team and I will continue to do the same for the U23 side. I will of course help the new manager with his tasks in any way that I can."
Kurz's last management position was with Kaiserslautern where he led them to promotion from the 2.Bundesliga at the end of the 2009-2010 season when they were crowned champions. The following season back in the Bundesliga, FCK defied the odds with a 7th place finish. He was sacked late the following season as they club stared relegation in the face.
