If Schalke win, they win Group B. They should do just that, but who knows what Montpellier team is going to show up.
Schalke will win their group and avoid the possibility of draws against Barcelona and Manchester United if they can defeat Montpellier in France on Tuesday. They're one point ahead of Arsenal and have a tiebreaker, so they will also win Group B if they lose and Arsenal can only manage a draw.
While Schalke have been good in Champions League, their domestic form has taken a nosedive as of late. They've failed to win their last four consecutive matches in the Bundesliga and could really use a win to turn their form around. Montpelier's recent form has been respectable, but they're still just 13th in Ligue 1.
Montpellier injuries and suspensions
Out: Laurent Pionnier, Karim Aït-Fana. In doubt: Geoffrey Jourdren
Schalke injuries and suspensions
Out: Marco Höger, Ibrahim Afellay, Christoph Metzelder
Afellay is the biggest absence for Schalke, though Julian Draxler has been solid whenever he's had to play ahead of the Dutchman. If Jourdren can't play for Montpellier, Schalke's day will be made much easier.
Match date/time: Tuesday, 8:45 p.m. local, 2:45 p.m. ET
Venue: Stade de la Masson, Montpellier, France
TV: Sky Sports red button (U.K.), DirecTV Soccer (U.S.)
Online: FOX Soccer 2 Go (U.S.)
