Give to fans of the Portland Timbers, nearly two weeks before the start of the 2012 season they are already close to selling out all 17 of their MLS home games. A tweet on Wednesday announced that only obstructed-view tickets are available, which all but guarantees they'll top last year's average attendance of nearly 19,000.
Only obstructed view seats remain for 2012 regular-season matches. Those are available only in-person at JELD-WEN Field box office.— Portland Timbers (@TimbersFC) February 29, 2012
As it is, only five teams outdrew the Timbers in 2011 and there's a good chance the Timbers could pass two of them. Not bad. Not bad at all.
