Wolverhampton Wanderers have suffered another blow in a difficult season after it's been revealed that on-loan Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong will play no further part in the 2011/12 campaign. The feisty Frimpong, known for his hard tackles and outspoken Twitter personality, went in for a tackle early in Wolves' 2-1 win against Queens Park Rangers, missed, and landed badly on his right knee. He was helped off the pitch by trainers, but the worst has been confirmed - a rupture of his anterior cruiciate ligament.
The 20-year-old was immediately recalled by Arsenal, and will go under the knife as soon as possible. Frimpong has a history of knee injuries, having suffered a blown left ACL two years ago, and the Gunners will hope that the Ghanaian, one of their brightest prospects recovers as well from this one as he did the last. And, for those of you who enjoy his often combative Tweets, good news - Frimpong will have all the time in the world at his disposal to do #frimmyfacts. Thank goodness for small blessings, eh?
