Barcelona Vs. Valencia, 2012 Copa Del Rey Semifinals: Halftime, Cules Lead By One

Barcelona lead Valencia by one goal on the night and on aggregate, but it could be so much worse for Los Che. Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves, though he let in one goal, has been absolutely brilliant and this tie would have already ended if not for him. He made three brilliant saves between the goal and the halftime whistle, giving his side a chance to go out and level the tie after the break. At halftime, Barcelona lead by a score of 1-0 on the night, 2-1 on aggregate.

The goal came in the 16th minute, with Cesc Fabregas scoring on a brilliant narrow angle finish. Lionel Messi's assist was downright jaw-dropping; the little Argentinian played an absurd 40-yard ball with the softest of touches over the top of the defense to Fabregas. The former Arsenal man went to Alves' right, then chipped the ball past him into the back of the net.

This goal came just two minutes after Sofiane Feghouli missed an absolutely golden opportunity -- Valencia's best of the match -- on the other end. They don't look much like scoring, and will need to play much better in the second half.
