Real Madrid and Barcelona have avoided each other in the quarterfinals, but the draw did produce one massive marquee matchup. Barcelona will face AC Milan, and they will go away to the San Siro in the first leg. The draw also has Madrid and Barcelona on different ends of the draw, and it leaves open the possibility for us to see another edition of El Clasico in the final. Both Madrid and Barcelona will start their semifinal ties away if they are able to prevail in the quarterfinals.
Quarterfinals (First legs March 27 and 28, second legs April 4 and 5)
APOEL Nicosia vs. Real Madrid
Olympique Marseille vs. Bayern Munich
Benfica vs. Chelsea
AC Milan vs. Barcelona
Semifinals (First legs April 17 and 18, second legs April 24 and 25)
Marseille/Bayern vs. APOEL/Madrid
Benfica/Chelsea vs. Milan/Barcelona
For purposes unknown to those of us who do not possess the intellectual capabilities of Gianni Infantino, the draw also determined that the winners of the first semifinal will be called the 'home team' in the final, meaning that Bayern Munich can potentially 'host' the final in their home stadium.
