Bolton Wanderers have released more information on the fate of stricken 23-year-old midfielder Fabrice Muamba, who's been in intensive care at the London Chest Hospital after suffering a hear attack during the Trotters' match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Although he's still critically ill, Muamba is showing real signs of improvement, with Bolton revealing that his heart has resumed beating without the use of medication and that he is moving his arms and legs.
These developments are a significant part of Muamba's long-term recovery, but the general prognosis is still entirely unclear. We won't have more detailed information for a good deal of time yet, but this is very positive news for Muamba's health, if not yet his career. Hopefully this is merely the first step towards Muamba making a full and quick recovery.
The fate of Bolton's matches against Blackburn Rovers in the league and Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup remain entirely up in the air. If more good news comes in, however, they seem more likely to go through with the club's mood lifted.
