Bundesliga Week 27, Saturday Scores: Bayern Munich Win, Gladbach Slip Up

Bayern Munich have kept the pressure on Borussia Dortmund in the race for the Bundesliga title, while Borussia Mönchengladbach appear to have dropped out of the title race for good. The Bundesliga's relegation race has also been shaken up considerably, and Hamburg are very much in that race.

Bayern Munich 2-1 Hannover 96

Didier Ya Konan gave Bayern a late scare with a 73rd minute goal to get his team back into the game, but that was after Bayern had gone up 2-0. Hannover wouldn't be able to find an equalizer. Toni Kroos scored the opener 38 minutes in and Mario Gomez scored his 43rd goal of the year in all competitions in the 68th minute.

Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-2 Hoffenheim

Marco Reus put Gladbach up in the first half with his 15th Bundesliga goal of the year, but his team fell apart in the second half. They conceded twice in less than two minutes, with Roberto Firmino netting the equalizer in the 77th minute, followed by Boris Vukcevic's goal in the 78th. They will now be more concerned with holding off Schalke for third than challenging for the title.

Mainz 1-3 Hertha Berlin

Hertha are only one point away from getting out of the bottom three with their win on Saturday, while Mainz are now only three points out of the drop zone. Thomas Tuchel's side had more of the ball as expected, but their defense couldn't hold up. Anis Ben-Hatra scored the opener in the first half and Gustavo Ramos doubled Hertha's lead early in the second. Maxin Choupo-Moting got his team back into the game with a 58th minute goal, but Ramos clinched it with a second in the 69th.

Freiburg 2-0 Kaiserslautern

'Lautern are firmly rooted to the bottom of the table and it doesn't look like they have a prayer of staying up this season. Freiburg have been surprisingly good since selling Papiss Cisse and they are now up to 14th, one point out of the bottom three. Karim Guede and Cedric Makiadi scored their goals in the first half.

Werder Bremen 1-1 Augsburg

Werder looked to be well on their way to a win until Augsburg snatched a late point to keep themselves out of the drop zone. Niclas Füllkrug scored for Werder in the 61st, but the home side gave away points in stoppage time, when Paul Verhaegh scored from close range after a free kick.

Friday: Wolfsburg 2-1 Hamburg

Wolfsburg are still in the race for a Europa League place, and between this result and Saturday's games, Hamburg are now third from bottom and in the relegation playoff spot. Mario Madzukic scored in the 46th minute to give Die Wölfe the lead, but his goal was instantly matched by Marcus Berg of HSV. The visitors attempted to defend for a draw and couldn't hold on, with Marcel Schäfer scoring the winner in the 75th.
