Milos Kocic made a diving stop of a Milovan Mirosevic penalty to keep Toronto FC and the Columbus Crew tied 0-0 at halftime of Saturday's game, the first of the three-legged Trillium Cup. Other than that save, neither goalkeeper was really tested in the first half.
The Crew were awarded a penalty on a somewhat dubious call in which Olman Vargas was tackled from behind, but didn't appear to have any realistic chance at winning the ball. Mirosevic, a Chilean international, stepped to the spot and went to Kocic's right. He didn't strike the ball especially hard, but it was not a poorly taken penalty as Kocic used all of his 6-foot-4 frame to get to it.
Neither side was able to generate much pressure from the run of play. TFC was able to put a pair of shots on frame, but neither really tested Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum. Kocic only had to make one other save and it too was rather routine.
