The race for third place in Serie A got another major shakeup as Udinese, Lazio and Napoli all lost, with AS Roma beating the former 3-1 at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to a very late winner from Francesco Totti. Lazio lost to Juventus, while Napoli suffered a humiliating 3-1 home defeat against lowly Atalanta. The end result is that Roma have surged back into the hunt for 3rd, while Walter Mazzarri's men look like fading into obscurity.
Elsewhere, Lecce's quest to avoid relegation received a huge boost with two absurdly late goals from Daniele Corvia and David di Michele at Catania, turning a 1-0 loss into three points. Combined with Genoa's 1-1 draw against Cesena, a game the rossoblu really should have won, it means that Lecce close to within two points of safety.
